Hello and Welcome to Sudbury & District Bar Billiards League Website
Please use the navigation above to go to the section you require information on. Below is some information about the league.
The League
This is a friendly between local pubs and clubs, based on Thursday nights. The main goal of the league is to play bar billiards while enjoying an evening out. Players new and old (I mean experienced) encourage all not only to play the game well, but to enjoy the evening.
A season runs from September/October through to June/July. A season consists of two sections: League Matches and Knockouts. At the end of a season Finals Night is held to present the winners and runners up with their awards/trophies.
The League would like to thank all our sponsors, past and present for you support. For more information about sponsor(s) and sponsorship in this league please see Sponsorship.
League Fixtures
In a season the number of league games will depend on the number of teams entered. Each team will play every other team (in their division) once at home, and once away. A match consists of: a captains game, 2 doubles games, and 5 single games. Possible outcomes of a match are win, draw, and lose. For exact information on league matches, fixtures, points, etc... please see League Rules.
Knockouts
Apart from league games during a season a variety of knockout events are held. These are described below...
Steve Richardson Doubles Charity Knockout
Usually this is played at the mid point of the season. This is open to entry from any person regardless if they have played a league game or not. An entry fee is required. There is also a raffle at each meeting of the knockout, and players/spectators are encouraged to bring prizes for the raffle. A cash prize is awarded to the winner(s). The remaining funds raised are donated to the charity chosen by the winners.
